Description
Online education has long been attractive to older students, whether they’re returning to complete a bachelor’s degree or looking to advance their careers through a graduate or professional program. But how are adult learners different from traditional college-age students? How can instructors best support adult learners in their courses? In this 90-minute workshop, facilitators will introduce adult learning theory and discuss the motivations and experiences that are common to many adult learners. Participants will reflect on how these students might experience their online course and consider strategies for better meeting adult learners’ needs.
