Description
The Career Insight Seminar Series is designed for women trainees in STEM fields, particularly female graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. The series offers programming that aims to fill the need for insights into MS/PhD level careers in the biomedical sciences and round table discussion about what these careers entail at universities and institutions.

Dr. Jennifer (Jenna) Larson-Casey, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her research is focused on investigating the role of air pollution mediating acute exacerbations of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (AE-IPF). She is a recipient of the prestigious Parker B. Francis Fellowship and recently awarded a faculty development grant at UAB. She has published several first author manuscripts in Immunity, Journal of Clinical Investigation, FASEB Journal, and American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine among others.

She is actively involved within American Thoracic Society (ATS) as a member of the RCMB Program Committee and Early Career Professionals Working Group, as well as the Society of Toxicology (SOT) as a Secretary/Treasurer of the Inhalation Respiratory Specialty Section and member of the Committee on Diversity Initiatives. She teaches graduate level courses at UAB and is active in mentoring students at all levels, undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral scholars, and pulmonary fellows.

Following the talk, from 2pm-3pm, 4 appointments are available to speak one-on-one with Dr. Collins. These appointments will be 15 minutes each. If you are interested in reserving one of these appointments, please contact the Research Commons after you register for the event and we will reserve one for you. The appointments will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
