Description
Wondering when and how to write a letter of recommendation for a student? Not sure how to ask an advisor for a letter of recommendation yourself? This workshop introduces participants to mentoring and advising strategies that can be used with undergraduate students, as well as strategies for fostering and maintaining successful relationships with faculty mentors and advisors.

If you have registered for this event, or are on the waitlist and require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate, please contact drakeinstitute@osu.edu. Requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the event, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • reflect on their dual positions as mentors and mentees
  • identify strategies for maintaining relationships with both undergraduate advisees and faculty advisors
  • understand best practices for both writing and asking for letters of recommendation
