“Benefits of ADA accessibility: What we’ve learned from Title II” and will be presented by Kaitlin Berry.

 

Presentation summary: This presentation will include discussions about different types of visual impairments and reasons why some people may use screen readers. We will also discuss best practices for updating course material to be ADA compliant, including how to organize documents, the importance of color contrast, using accessible fonts, alt-text, and defining headers in tables. Lastly, we will demonstrate how these changes improve course material for all students and for students using screen readers.
