Description
LEARNING GOALS
After this session, participants will be able to:
** Identify key differences between user experiences via browser and iPad app.
** Compare experiences for students and instructors on mobile devices in order to make recommendations or decisions around Carmen use.
** Determine best practices for course design that is universally accessible and device agnostic.
** Understand how the student view and experience of Carmen differ from their own.
With numerous variables affecting how users access and perceive the content and activities within CarmenCanvas, instructors are often only familiar with the modality and view they most commonly use. In this session, hands-on activities will demonstrate the differences between browser-based and app-based access for both students and instructors, carving out the specific functions likely to impact students' experience in a course. Participants will gain insight into the design of the learning management system and discover best practices for building courses for all users.
This is a BYOD (bring-your-own-device) event—attendees are encouraged to bring iPads if they have them, but they are not required for session participation.
