Description
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
1. Identify racially problematic areas in their teaching and research (implicit and explicit).
2.  Describe ideas, which will be incorporated into a plan, that they will begin to implement to disrupt racism in their own teaching and research.
3.  Evaluate their own efforts to model and apply anti-racist teaching and research strategies to create a more diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff, ultimately leading to more equitable and inclusive patient care.

The target audience for our event will likely have many questions on how we plan to disrupt racism at The Ohio State University.  This is exhibited by the need to create a Medical Center wide task force to address racial disparities and inequities.  The deficit in knowledge can be attributed to the demographics of our faculty, a lack of directed training in the areas of inclusion, equity and diversity, and a lack of underrepresented minorities in our programs.  We are using this opportunity to bring those that we educate face-to-face with those that educate them to start a dialogue and begin the work to answer questions around how we disrupt racism within our Health Sciences Education and at The Ohio State University.  Dynamic keynote speakers as well as panel discussions will bring about the conversations that are needed to fulfill the mission of this program, which is to disrupt racism in our education and research missions.
