Description
Decolonizing Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Curricula
Description
What does it mean when we talk about decolonizing science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) curricula? What does it look like in practice? This presentation focuses on the joint history of colonization and STEAM, how colonization manifests in modern American STEAM curricula, and how to actively work against colonization in designing and implementing curricula. Dr. Masko will contextualize these concepts within her own experiences as a disabled STEAM scholar, educator, and curriculum designer. Participation in this event qualifies for 1 credit toward the CFAES Diversity, Intercultural and Community Engagement (DICE) Certificate. For complete details visit go.osu.edu/cfaesDICE.

This event will be presented with automated closed captions. If you wish to request traditional CART services or other accommodations, please contact Laura Akgerman at akgerman.4@osu.edu or 614-292-0622. Requests submitted two weeks in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access, but the university will make every effort to meet every request.

Please direct all other inquiries to Dr. Leo Taylor (taylor.3408@osu.edu).
