The Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning invites educators to critically engage with the evolving landscape of generative AI in higher education. In “Generative AI in Higher Education: The ChatGPT Effect”, Cecilia Ka Yuk Chan and Tom Colloton offer a detailed exploration of the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations of integrating generative AI into academic settings. This book provides educators with practical insights, frameworks, and case studies to navigate this new era of AI-augmented teaching and learning. 

Educators will:
  • describe the foundational concepts of AI and generative AI
  • analyze the implications of generative AI on curriculum design, assessment, and pedagogy in higher education
  • evaluate policy considerations related to the integration of AI in educational settings
  • explore practical strategies for incorporating AI fluency into teaching, learning, and assessment
  • reflect on the future impact of AI and generative AI on higher education
This event is part of the Drake Institute Spring 2026 Book Club. Participants may register for all five workshops or any of the workshops that align with their needs. All sessions will be from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on the following dates: 

February 13: Session 1: Foundational Concepts & AI Fluency
February 27: Session 2: Curriculum & Pedagogy
March 13: Session 3: Policy Principals & Frameworks
March 27: Session 4: The Technology Landscape
April 10: Session 5: Future Vision & Research
