Description
For GTAs and Graduate Students

In this workshop, participants will discuss how Universal Design principles can be used to best lead discussions on course content that may be challenging for students. Participants will leave with tools to assist in setting goals for discussions, articulating expectations, and anticipating conflicts in class.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • Define and understand the importance of inclusive teaching.
  • Discuss how classroom diversity and inclusive teaching impact student learning.
  • Understand the principles of Universal Design and how to apply strategies to your teaching.
  • Plan specific inclusive teaching strategies to try in your classroom this term.
