Description
This interactive workshop invites Ohio State’s educators to reflect on their teaching practices, explore strategies that address Senate Bill 1 (SB 1) and foster intellectual diversity, and engage with resources for ongoing professional learning. Participants will learn how to demonstrate a commitment to intellectual diversity through syllabi, student learning activities, and assessment practices. After this workshop participants will be able to:
- Explain connections between intellectual diversity, evidence-informed teaching practices, and academic freedom and responsibility.
- Reflect on how their teaching values and practices support intellectual diversity.
- Evaluate strategies for promoting intellectual diversity across disciplines and instructional contexts.
- Identify course elements that signal a commitment to intellectual diversity.
- Develop a plan for continued professional learning in this area.
