Description
** NOTE: You will need to register on the CIRTL website in order to sign up for this workshop (Go to: https://www.cirtl.net/ click sign up in the upper right corner, for institution choose Other). Examine how social and cultural contexts shape the experiences of undergraduate women in STEM. In each week of this series, we will discuss the unique challenges faced by women in their educational trajectories. Despite efforts to broaden participation in STEM over the last few decades, women remain underrepresented in these fields. Across the series, we will explore how equity-oriented, inclusive practices can transform teaching and learning in STEM. In the first of four events on women in STEM, we will define and characterize the participation of women in STEM. We will assess the challenges they face at the undergraduate level. Lastly, we will discuss strategies for creating inclusive environments. Please RSVP here and at the event webpage: https://www.cirtl.net/events/series/30 Following the event, email Erica Szeyller.1 to confirm you attendance.
