Description
Dr. Linan Wang is hosting a workshop to provide instructors with an interactive experience dissecting barriers to students' success in Intro Biology lab research projects. In this workshop, you will also learn concepts to help students understand information literacy. And discuss the next steps to formulate an approach to make your students more successful in their research projects, while providing meaning to the process.
This workshop is for Intro Biology and CURE instructors whose students have been introduced to the literature search process and prior to the final opportunity to provide feedback before the project is due. Instructors should have some idea at this point of how students are handling the literature search process and have ideas for areas of improvement.
By the end of session:
1. Participants will be able to identify differences in student views of research and course expectations leading to barriers in success.
