Description
We will be discussing How Learning Works: 7 Research-based Principles for Smart Teaching by Susan Ambrose et al. (2010). This is a must-read for college teaching!

How Learning Works is available online through the OSU Library System through two different links (https://library-ohio-state-edu.proxy.lib.ohio-state.edu/record=b8540678~S7 or https://library-ohio-state-edu.proxy.lib.ohio-state.edu/record=b8585188~S7). If you would rather read from a hard copy, this book is also in reserve and available to be checked out at the Biological Pharmacy Library.

The group will meet once a week for 1.5 hours for four weeks on 9/15, 9/22, 9/29, & 10/6.

Pre-work

Before attending each week you will be asked to read a selection of chapters from the book and generate at least one discussion prompt per chapter that you upload to the discussion board. Feel free to bring along any resources or other materials you find as related to the reading.

Meeting 2 (9/22): Chapters 3 and 4
Meeting 3 (9/29): Chapters 5 and 6
