Building Mastery: Skills for a Drama Free Life
THURSDAYS, 3:00-4:00 pm Starting 8/23
Located: Younkin Success Center, RM 150
Faciliated by: Jennifer Lang
A four part workshop series (come to one, some or all!) to help students increase skills to manage stress, the drama of relationship conflict, feeling out of control or in constant crisis! This workshop topics include:
(Week 1) Mindfulness-Skills to allow you to be present in the moment and reduce anxiety and judgment
(Week 2) Distress Tolerance- Strategies to problem solve feelings of crisis without making the situation worse
(Week 3) Interpersonal Effectiveness- Tools to develop effective communication and boundary setting in romantic, professional and other types of relationships
(Week 4) Emotion Regulation- Reducing intensity and duration of painful emotions
Students will leave this workshop with skills to more confidently use to manage distress in their lives.
These topics will rotate throughout the semester.
