Description
For anyone who needs a refresher, CRUST is a community for STEM TAs here at Ohio State with three major focuses: 1) Professional development 2) Community building 3) Exploration of research-based teaching practices. CRUST will be great for people who are interested in pursuing a teaching position in the future or have a passion for education. To our knowledge, CRUST is the first and only student org at OSU that focuses on professional development for STEM educators. CRUST also provides a space for TAs to connect with each other.

For our next meeting (Sep 14th at 3pm) we will be going over a couple of active learning exercises that could be used during lab as well as talk about the benefits of active learning (Paper attached).

Remember, if you present at a CRUST meeting you will receive more points for Bio 5001. All you will need to do is pick out a research-based paper and outline the paper on PowerPoint or any other presentation software so that we as a group can discuss the paper.

If you have any questions or a paper you wish to discuss, please email me (wright.2175). Also, below are the rest of the meeting dates!

Dates of meetings: Sep 14th , Oct 5th , Oct 26th , Nov 16, and Dec 7th (Pizza Social)
