Description
Selecting credible and appropriate information sources is one of the most difficult challenges for students when completing research or inquiry-based assignments. Often, students are taught to evaluate information sources using a checklist approach that considers factors such as date and web domain, but is this an effective method for identifying sources that are credible and relevant? In this workshop, part of University Libraries’ Information Literacy Virtual Workshop Series, we will explore some of the reasons why it can be so hard to identify credible information and will provide strategies and resources that instructors can use to help students develop their critical evaluation skills.
