Description
The Guiding Students to Wellness workshop is a 2.5 hour training (10 minute break in the middle) designed specifically for faculty, staff, and graduate/professional students at The Ohio State University. Participants will learn the skills needed to effectively guide students to wellness through active listening, Motivational Interviewing, goal-setting and best-referral practices. Participants will learn and practice tangible skills to help students access wellness-related resources on Ohio State's campus, specifically highlighting nutrition/food insecurity, mental health, sexual violence and financial wellness. Throughout the workshop, there will be multiple opportunities to ask questions and practice scenarios to help participants become more confident in assisting students in need. The training ends with goal-setting and a final reflection.
