End time

Description
Multiple choice questions (MCQ) are a staple of assessment in Health Professions Education. However, writing MCQs can be a difficult time-consuming process. During the second session of this interactive 2-part series, participants will critique MCQs, learn about resources to assist with item writing, and explore how GenAI can be used in the item writing process.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • describe an effective multiple-choice question
  • analyze a multiple-choice question and make recommendations for improvement
  • explore how GenAI can be used in the process of drafting multiple choice questions

For those interested in the Assessment in Health Professions Education Endorsement, completion of both MCQ Workshops I and II are required to fulfill the elective. You may register for session II here
