Description
When do I need to use scholarly articles? Am I ever allowed to use a blog post? In order to effectively select, evaluate and use information sources, students must understand the factors that contribute to source authority. The next workshop in the University Libraries’ Information Literacy Workshop Series will focus on the concept of Authority is Constructed and Contextual. The workshop will take place on Thursday, June 18 from noon - 1 p.m. In this interactive virtual workshop, you will identify some of the student learning bottlenecks that are related to this core information literacy concept. You will learn practical strategies for helping students identify the authority of different information sources and determine when it is appropriate to use them.
