Description
LEARNING GOALS Participants in this session will: ** Identify challenges students have in navigating online learning. ** Recognize how different writing activities can positively impact student learning by helping them work through common barriers to online learning. ** Discuss how student writing can provide insight on how online students are progressing through a course. Online learning is complex, and students don’t automatically know how to be successful online learners. Students may fall behind or not meet learning objectives for many reasons besides the difficult nature of the work in your course, including technological, environmental, cognitive and behavioral factors. Presenters from the Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) program will introduce a number of strategies involving writing in the form of reflection, mapping and outlining and informal online assignments/activities, all of which can positively affect your students’ learning this semester by facilitating their learning habits and your understanding of how your students are progressing in the course. Note: Registrants will receive the webinar link in an email the day before the event. RSVP here and at the event page: https://carmen-services.it.ohio-state.edu/Events/Event/Details/1139
