Description
LEARNING GOALS
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
** Develop relationships with colleagues involved in supporting students online.
** Identify and apply strategies to support students online.
The Supporting Students Online Forum is open to all on campus who have an interest in supporting students via online methods. Often this is viewed as supporting fully distance education students, but having resources available online benefits all learners. This third meeting of the forum will begin with a short presentation from colleagues from the academic advising community who are supporting students online. The rest of the session will allow for participant-guided small group conversations.
Proposed discussion topics include:
** Web Conferencing Tools (CarmenConnect, Conferences, etc.)
** Social Media (Twitter, Facebook, etc.)
** Communication (Office Hours, Medium, Challenges, etc.)
** Fully Distance and Non-Traditional Student Support and Challenges
However, the audience will be asked for discussion topic ideas before groups are formed and given the chance to rotate discussion groups throughout the session.
