Description
Teaching students how to clearly document research can seem difficult. While plagiarism seems to be endemic, citation seems like a technical topic that could overwhelm an already busy course schedule. However, since ethical research in our disciplines is at the center of what we want to teach students, and writing is the primary mode for articulating ethical research, there are ways to foreground the connection between critical thinking and writing that help students learn both more fully. In this session, we will explore strategies that help students better understand the role that citation plays in the writing of various disciplines. Please RSVP here and at the event webpage https://ucat.osu.edu/events/beyond-plagiarism-teaching-academic-integrity-writing-research-2/ Following the workshop, email Erica Szeyller.1 to confirm your attendance for the full event time. If you were not able to attend the full event, email Erica Szeyller.1 to discuss the possibility of 5001 course points.
