Description
In Part 1 of this series, we explored how using Headings, Lists, and Links in CarmenCanvas Announcements can greatly improve the accessibility of even casual communications with students. In Part 2, we’ll take on Tables, Color and Contrast, and Alternative Text as they appear in PowerPoint and in CarmenCanvas Pages. How we make data accessible? What is a contrast ratio, and how do we calculate it? And how much do we really need to describe our graphics? Come practice using the built-in Microsoft Accessibility tools and the Ally scanner in CarmenCanvas. We strongly suggest that participants bring a laptop or use a desktop computer for this session.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
- name and describe the Seven Core Skills for Digital Accessibility
- apply Tables, Color/Contrast, and Alt-Text to PowerPoint documents and Canvas Pages
- identify which Core Skills are most important for their course or discipline and will be able to assess their comfort in using these Skills
