Description
Join us every other week for CLSE Seminar Series for presentations of research in teaching and learning! Seminar Topic - “The Evolutionary Mile High Club – a case study” This case study explores the connections between human physiology and the evolutionary events that may have led to the current human response to high altitude environments. So far, it has only been used in an introductory non-majors biology course, however I believe that it may be applicable to many other courses offered in CLSE. Having used this exercise last semester with limited success, I hope that this seminar will help me to identify the activity’s strengths and weaknesses and ultimately lead to suggestions for how to improve it for future uses. ** Note: Part of this activity requires access to the internet, so I recommend that you bring a laptop or tablet to the seminar so that you can complete the activity on your own.
