For graduate students and postdocs.
Receiving feedback on your teaching philosophy statement is a critical component of the revision process. In this session, Drake Institute staff will lead participants in a peer review workshop of their teaching statement drafts. Participants will consider how to incorporate the five facets of effective teaching statements, receive feedback on their teaching statement drafts and share suggestions to strengthen others’ statements. To participate in this workshop, you must submit a draft of your teaching statement to share no later than Friday, Sept. 17 to Laura Struve: Shortly after registering, you will be given instructions for uploading your teaching statement draft.

- Apply the five facets of effective teaching statements and provide feedback on a peer’s draft.
- Reflect on their own teaching statements and strategize areas of improvement in their own drafts.
