Description
** This activity is 2 points total with a required reflection. How are you planning your summative assessments with all the unexpected changes this semester? If you are like many of us, this question may be causing a good amount stress on you and your students. You are not alone! Meghan Bathgate (Yale University) has assembled a repertoire of creative ways faculty are providing opportunities for students to demonstrate learning in this unique season. If you haven't decided yet on how you want to assess your students, this is our last Happy Hour on a topic that keeps coming up as a top priority for our constituency. Per participants' request, we will continue to increase the time shared in small group discussions to collaborate with resources and experience, ask questions, self-reflect, and even brainstorm novel ideas. Grab a drink, get a snack, and drop in for a few minutes on Zoom to share challenges and successes around the rapid transition to remote teaching and learning. Chat with others who may be having common experiences at their home institutions. Based on research by the Summer Institutes and in fact Meghan Bathgate herself (our speaker this Friday), we know that supports are three times more important than barriers in implementing Scientific Teaching in typical classroom environments, so join us for support from the Summer Institutes (SI) community (Bathgate et al., 2019a, 2019b). See you soon- on zoom! RSVP here with the CLSE and by using this link in order to receive the Zoom link: https://yale.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0sceisqj0qGNY8rLaGRCBCJ1a2Tc3T0zuL?utm_source=Live+Subscribed+SI+Community&utm_campaign=59ca102944-March_2019_SI_Newsletter_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_9266ddfc49-59ca102944-363227565 Following the workshop, email Erica Szeyller.1 to confirm your attendance for the full event time.
