Active learning is a concept that has been researched extensively across multiple disciplines and in a variety of teaching and learning contexts. Benefits of active learning to students, both in terms of performance and experience, are supported by a large body of evidence.

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the concept of active learning and will be provided opportunities to explore and learn about a variety of basic, evidence-based strategies that can be incorporated across disciplines, modalities, and teaching contexts.

This event is part of the Active Learning Workshop Series. Participants are encouraged to register for all three workshops or register solely for the workshops that align with their needs. This workshop series will span through the full academic year 2024-2025. Spring 2025 workshop dates will be announced at a later date.

September 19: Student Engagement Strategies: Peer Instruction

October 2: Making Active Learning Work: A Deep Dive into Implementation Strategies
