Description
Gathering feedback from students is crucial to improving our teaching strategies and course content. However, instructors don’t have to wait until end-of-the-semester evaluations like SEIs to learn what students are thinking! This workshop will investigate strategies for cultivating student feedback throughout the semester, discuss research which demonstrates how bias plays a role in SEI outcomes, and review methods for acting on feedback and receiving it with compassion.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
* Articulate how gendered and raced bias has been demonstrated in research to play a role in SEI outcomes
* List a variety of strategies for cultivating student feedback across the semester
* Describe methods for acting on feedback and integrating it into pedagogical decision-making
