Description
For anyone who needs a refresher, CRUST is a community for STEM TAs here at Ohio State with three major focuses: 1) Professional development 2) Community building 3) Exploration of research-based teaching practices. CRUST will be great for people who are interested in pursuing a teaching position in the future or have a passion for education. To our knowledge, CRUST is the first and only student org at OSU that focuses on professional development for STEM educators. CRUST also provides a space for TAs to connect with each other.

The next CRUST meeting will be on Jan 11th at 5pm via Zoom (information below).
There are two main tasks Chelsea would like to accomplish at the first meeting (Jan 11th at 5pm)
1) get your opinion on topics we should talk about or activities we should do this semester at our monthly meetings. 2) Talk about how teacher burnout impacts the classroom (Paper Attached) and how to prevent burnout. Zhang & Sapp (2008) investigates how teacher burnout impacts student's motivation and affective learning as well as test the effect of teacher nonverbal immediacy.
