For anyone who needs a refresher, CRUST is a community for STEM TAs here at Ohio State with three major focuses: 1) Professional development 2) Community building 3) Exploration of research-based teaching practices. CRUST will be great for people who are interested in pursuing a teaching position in the future or have a passion for education. To our knowledge, CRUST is the first and only student org at OSU that focuses on professional development for STEM educators. CRUST also provides a space for TAs to connect with each other.
The next CRUST meeting will be next Wednesday Feb 22nd at 5pm via Zoom (information below) and we will be talking about the role of leardership in moving from instructor-centered, lecture-based instruction to evidence-based pedagogies that include active student participation and frequent feedback(Matz&Jardeleza(2016).pdf574 KB).
If you have any questions or a paper you wish to discuss, please email Chelsea Wright (wright.2175).
