Classroom Assessment Techniques (CATs) are a collection of simple, low-investment strategies designed to (1) provide formative (ongoing) assessment of student learning, (2) promote student reflection on their learning, (3) and allow instructors to more closely monitor and respond to student understanding as learning occurs. These evidence-based strategies are easy to implement, engaging to students, and applicable across disciplines and instructional contexts. Instructors of all levels and in any contexts are encouraged to join this one-hour workshop in which we will explore various CATs and work to plan the integration of one or more of these strategies into instruction.
