Description
Did you know that CLSE has a database of resources to help you teach biology? It is called CWIS. This workshop will provide an overview of CWIS and how to utilize it to provide more effective student-centered recitations for your students. TAs will discuss aspects of designing recitation materials and how to determine what resources will be effective for their courses. Prior to attending the workshop, TAs need to reflect on the activities they have created for their classroom and write why they believe the activity was or was not student-centered. TAs also need to search CWIS for a recitation material related to the course they currently teach and write how they would adapt it for their classrooms. Directions for how to use CWIS can be found on the Carmen website for Biology 5001. ** Please bring your laptop to the workshop. Pizza and beverages will be provided.
