Description
Participants are invited to engage in the opening, "Assessment for Learning" Workshop Series event hosted by the Drake Institute for Teaching and Learning. Designed to support effective use of assessment practices, the "Assessment for Learning" workshop series features Drake Institute staff and faculty from around Ohio State in sharing evidence-based approaches to assessment designed to support student learning

In this session, Dr. Joni Tornwall, PhD, RN (Associate Professor of Clinical Nursing) and Dr. Sarah Rusnak, MS, RDN, LD (Clinical Instructor) will present on evidence-based practices in instructor-to-student and peer-to-peer feedback. Participants will explore frameworks for creating a classroom culture of learning through assessment feedback and will learn best practices for teaching principles of peer feedback to students.

After this workshop participants will be able to:

  • consider a range of evidence-based opportunities to infuse formative assessment strategies into instruction
  • address a variety of challenges in teaching and learning through implementation of assessment for learning strategies
