Description
Researchers in engineering education offer important innovations that are changing how undergraduate students learn and how faculty teach. In many teaching-focused engineering programs, however, faculty remain disconnected from engineering education research, and often there is no engineering education expert on the faculty with specific training in the field. In this presentation, I’ll discuss three current interventions that are designed to bridge this gap. These interventions—a customized curriculum that supports an NSF national cohort, an immersive faculty experience for emerging engineering educators, and a set of change tools designed for early career faculty—create impact by bringing researchers and practitioners into productive collaborations.
