Description
In the current national climate, it can be difficult to navigate the strong emotions and reactions to politics students bring with them into the classroom. In this session, participants will discuss politics-related challenges they face in their own courses and brainstorm ways to set expectations for civil discourse in any discipline. They will become familiar with strategies for creating learning environments that can support all students by using current events and political topics effectively in class and making space for multiple perspectives.
