This event is for Graduate Students only.
In this workshop, participants will learn about the principles of inclusive grading. They will explore rubrics as a tool to make course assignments more transparent, effective, and inclusive. We will compare strengths and weaknesses of several types of rubrics, and participants will practice writing a rubric for an assignment.
After this workshop participants will be able to:
- Discuss strategies for grading in a more effective, fair, and inclusive way.
- Implement rubrics as a transparent and efficient way to provide feedback that can help improve student learning.
- Choose the appropriate type of rubric for different circumstances.
- Practice writing a rubric.
