FALCoN (with Jennifer Momsen). Ungrading: Alternatives to Traditional Grading
The traditional grading structures we typically use in colleges and universities emerged over a century ago! Since their inception, however, these structures have changed very little despite decades of research on teaching and learning. This stasis is problematic because our traditional grading approaches can create barriers to student success, undermine and misrepresent learning, and propagate inequities in education. In this virtual workshop, we’ll discuss how traditional grading structures impede learning and explore alternatives that can help create equitable and inclusive learning environments.
