Topic
You may be in the process of designing online or hybrid courses for Summer and Fall terms, building your STEM courses from the ground up for the very first time. In this SI Happy Hour presentation, Glen Davenport and Meghan Bathgate of the Yale Poorvu Center for Teaching and Learning will share design strategies for online courses. The advice comes straight from student survey data but has been vetted by learning scientists. Actionable strategies include tips for organizing the LMS page for the course, balancing synchronous and asynchronous content, and the optimal length for pre-recorded lectures. You won’t believe tip #7!
