If you spend more than 30 minutes on homework, please inform Erica. Description Leadership skills are a critical component to success as a faculty member, administrative positions in higher education, and in non-academic positions. This workshop will build on several aspects of leadership skills, taking participants through the components of leadership: recognizing the characteristics of leadership and management and when to apply each; assessing their own capabilities; developing strategies for implementation; and developing strategies to bring out the leadership capacity in others. Participants will have access to a unique 360-Degree Leadership Assessment tool developed by Northwestern University to be able to analyze their current skill levels and track their leadership skill gains as they progress throughout their career. Workshop Schedule This workshop has two online sessions, which participants are required to attend, at 3-4:30PM ET / 2-3:30PM CT / 1-2:30PM MT / 12-1:30PM PT on Monday, November 12 and Monday, November 26. Workload Participants will be expected to complete some brief readings outside of sessions; other homework may be expected. Registration & Enrollment This workshop is limited to 50 participants. Early registration for CIRTL members only is open from Monday, August 20 through 12PM CT on Friday, October 26. Regular registration runs from Monday, October 29 through 12PM CT on Friday, November 9. STEM/SBE grad students and postdocs from CIRTL institutions receive priority; we refer to the institution, role, and discipline in your website profile when assessing priority.
