This workshop is required for CLSE instructors that would like to mentor newer CLSE TAs. Instructors that have taught for the CLSE 2 semesters are eligible serve as a mentor. We have already placed mentors with mentees for the current semester but you are still welcome to do the training and potentially serve as a mentor in the future.

1.     Identify benefits of mentoring for mentors and mentees, and identify ways that they can market their mentoring experience 

2.     Identify the phases of the mentoring process and specific activities associated with each phase 

3.     Identify skills associated with effective mentoring, and self-assess their own mentoring skills and needs 

4.     Provide constructive feedback on observed classroom teaching 

5.     Develop an action plan for mentoring
