Description
Have you often grappled with recurring learning challenges that students experience in your courses? Those bottlenecks in understanding that hamper students from learning your discipline? The “Decoding the Disciplines” methodology offers faculty an approach for analyzing how experts in any field think and perform, and then identifying the bottlenecks to students for understanding that expertise. The “Decoding” methodology helps all of us clarify our knowledge and assumptions in order to design courses, classes, and assignments that help students gain greater confidence in their ability to understand how scholars and researchers work, what kinds of questions they ask, and how a discipline advances knowledge.
All are welcome to join us for a roundtable on this topic with discussion leader Craig Gibson, Professional Development Coordinator, the Ohio State University Libraries.
