Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the landscape of higher education, influencing how students learn, create, and engage with course content. This workshop invites instructors to think critically and creatively about assignment design in this new context. Together, participants will explore practical ways to integrate AI fluency into teaching, discuss potential benefits and limitations of incorporating AI into assignments, and share strategies that make learning more meaningful and engaging. Through guided activities and reflection, participants will connect AI fluency outcomes to their own course goals and leave with ideas they can confidently adapt to their teaching practices.

After this workshop participants will be able to:
  • explore opportunities for integrating AI fluency into assignments and teaching practices
  • analyze the benefits and limitations of designing assignments that integrate AI Fluency
  • describe assignment design strategies that enhance learning and engagement
  • align AI fluency outcomes to potential assignments for your course
  • reflect on current practices and values related to teaching AI fluency
