April 1: Luanna Prevost is a biology education researcher whose lab focuses on understanding student thinking through assessment and using these findings to drive instruction. Projects include using text analysis and machine learning for automated analysis of written assessment, development of evidence-based instructional activities, and faculty and graduate student professional development. She is a member of the Automated Assessment Research Group (AACR), a NSF-funded national collaboration to develop written assessments and tools to automatically score students’ writing in order to learn more about how students engage in STEM learning.
