Description
Access using Carmen Connect. Often a student’s first encounter with a course is through the syllabus. This webinar explores ways this foundational course document can be used to foster an inclusive learning environment that helps students feel supported and motivated to achieve our expectations. In this session participants will become familiar with the research of the impact of syllabus language on student learning, discuss sample syllabus statements, and begin drafting inclusive language for use in their own courses. This workshop is part of the Inclusive Teaching Endorsement offered by the University Institute for Teaching and Learning (UITL). For more information check out the following webpages: ** https://ucat.osu.edu/ucat-events/endorsements/ ** https://uitl.osu.edu/instructors/teaching-endorsements RSVP for the workshop with the CLSE here as well as at the event webpage: https://ucat.osu.edu/events/inclusive-syllabus-webinar/ Following the workshop, email Erica Szeyller.1 to confirm your attendance for the full event time.
