Description
** This is an event for New TAs and requires homework.
Nervous about your first day in the classroom? You're not alone! We at CLSE want to give you a chance to relieve some of your worry by presenting a "dress rehearsal" of your first week's lab introduction (a shortened version) or a recitation activity of your design. This workshop will give you the chance to see others' presentation styles, and receive feedback on your own. We will also briefly discuss information you should cover with your students on the first day of lab, and field questions you have in preparing for teaching for CLSE.
The workshop should take approximately two hours. If you would like to present, but your schedule requires that you arrive late or leave early, email Erica (szeyller.1@osu.edu) to determine whether you can still participate.
Please sign up by adding yourself to the guest list (below). Thereafter, visit the Carmen 5001 site to access materials to help you prepare for the event (go to Modules -> Feedback -> Microteaching -> Microteaching for New TAs). Please choose the instructions appropriate to the course you will be teaching, and take a moment to explore the evaluation rubric.
Please feel free to contact Erica (szeyller.1@osu.edu) with any questions or concerns.
