Workshop: These are my students, they are my co-authors
Location: 260 Ramseyer Hall, 29 W. Woodruff Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210
Dates: Tuesday, Mar. 05, 2019
Time: 1-2:30 p.m.
Event Speaker: Ana-Paula Correia, Rick Voithoffer and Cara North, Education and Human Ecology
In The New Education: How to Revolutionize the University to Prepare Student for a World in Flux, Cathy N. Davidson writes that teaching and learning in a successful 21st century university requires “a theory of learning that is deep, synthetic, active, and meaningful, with real impact in the world.” Two faculty members in the College of Education and Human Ecology are implementing such a theory of learning.
Dr. Ana-Paula Correia and Dr. Richard Voithofer are working together with their students to co-author open educational resources, leveraging collaborative learning and technology to demonstrate what the new education looks like at The Ohio State University.
Join us for a panel discussion with Correia and Voithofer, both associate professors of learning technologies, about the co-authoring projects they designed. Cara North, a PhD student in Learning Technologies, and a co-author of Driving Educational Change: Innovation in Action, an open source ebook edited by Correia, will also share her experience.
