Description
In this 1-hour workshop, facilitators will walk instructors and instructional staff through how to use Simple Syllabus. Simple Syllabus allows instructors to easily create and share course details with students, and is required by the university for courses level 5000 and below to meet Senate Bill 1 syllabus requirements.

In this tool-specific workshop, facilitators will walk participants through the tool's features and benefits, including how to update required syllabus details, how to keep additional course details viewable only to students enrolled in the course, and how to provide students with quick search features and a table of contents to facilitate student understanding of the syllabus. In addition, facilitators will show participants how syllabus templates will save instructors time by pulling in content from previous semesters, the Registrar, CarmenCanvas and departmental shared syllabi.

Please note that this workshop will focus on the technical strategies of using Simple Syllabus. While it may reference SB1 requirements and Ohio State's expectations, the facilitators are not legal experts and may not be able to address legal or administrative questions. We recommend you reach out to your unit’s admin regarding such questions.

If you have registered for this event or are on the waitlist and require an accommodation such as live captioning or interpretation to participate, please contact carmen@osu.edu. Requests should be made at least two weeks prior to the event, but the university will make every effort to meet requests made after this date.
