Description
For our next meeting (Sep 15th) we will be reading and Arjun Venkatesan will be leading a discussion on a paper based on Kolb’s experiential learning theory (ELT). This paper is a critique/re-formulating of Kolb’s ELT based on modern neuro- and cognitive science. They touch on a few other educational theories as well, in addition to ELT itself. Our meeting time and location did change!! We will be meeting at 5:30 pm in Jennings 0050. Attached is a flyer with the updated location and time!!

For anyone who needs a refresher, CRUST is a community for STEM TAs here at Ohio State with three major focuses: 1) Professional development 2) Community building 3) Exploration of research-based teaching practices. CRUST will be great for people who are interested in pursuing a teaching position in the future or have a passion for education. To our knowledge, CRUST is the first and only student org at OSU that focuses on professional development for STEM educators. CRUST also provides a space for TAs to connect with each other.

Autumn meetings will be on the following Wednesdays  at 5:30pm:
August 25th (Knowing our students)
September 15th (Theories of learning)
October 6th (Selecting teaching methods and techniques)
October 27th (Course design)
November 17th (Creating assignments)
December 8th (Social)
