Description
The purpose of TACO is to promote a community of TAs within the CLSE that will help each other grow as instructors. This is a TA developed and run group therefore your attendance is paramount to help to determine the current and future direction of the group.
Classroom management; When things don’t go right in the lab, how do we get class back on track?
-We’ll discuss failed recitation activities (is it okay to switch gears?)
-How to handle experiments that aren’t working (How can the learning objectives still be conveyed if data is bad?)
-Maintaining a positive class attitude when some students view the lab negatively (what’s the best way to handle this?)
-Do you know what to do if the computer sound or video isn’t working? Should you switch gears?
-Who to contact or what to do if lab supplies are missing!
** All TAs are invited (that means you, novice, advanced, contractor, graduate, and undergraduate TAs).
Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
