For the first book group of the term, we will be reading Saundra McGuire’s Teach Students How to Learn: Strategies you can incorporate into any course to improve student metacognition, study skills, and motivation

You will be expected to read the assigned chapters prior to attending the book group each week. You can write discussion prompts each week and post them on the associated Carmen Discussion board for an additional 2 points (see more information below).
 
Meeting Schedule
·       January 19th Meeting 1 – Chapters 1- 3
 
·       January 26th Meeting 2 – Chapters 4-6
 
·       February 2nd  Meeting 3 – Chapters 7-9
 
·       February 9th Meeting 4 – Chapter 10-Epilogue
 
10 points total: 2 points per meeting for reading ahead and contribution to discussion; 2 additional points if adds questions to Carmen discussion board prior to meeting each week.
